“Vachan Prerana Diwas” 

India’s former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's birth anniversary, October 15, 2016 is observed as “Vachan Prerana Diwas”. To develop reading habits among students and also to make them aware of importance of reading books to gain knowledge, this day is celebrated as ‘Reading Day’.

On this occasion a book exhibition was organized by college library for students and staff members of the college. Around 200 books (English/Hindi/Marathi Language) from the library collection were on display. The books were of different genre from fictions, non-fictions, story books and poems by eminent authors, general knowledge and reference books –dictionaries, encyclopedias, and thesaurus. Various books written by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam were also on display along with his photograph.

Library staff encouraged the students to visit the Library for participating in book exhibition. Students showed their interest towards reading the books. They actively participated in the round table discussion and expressed their views about the book they read. Some students made a remark that Book Exhibition and the discussions enriched them with importance of general reading.

Number of students and staff members visited the exhibition was 60.
